West Taft Road (CR51) Paving Project
This project will include asphalt pavement resurfacing of a portion of West Taft Road (CR51) from the Burr Drive intersection to 300 feet east of Hollywood Circle intersection in the Town of Clay, Onondaga County, New York. The total project length is 1.6 miles. In addition, select areas of the full depth pavement will be repaired. The project will also include: cleaning and repairs to the existing roadside drainage system, repairs or removal of existing flush concrete medians at each intersection, new pavement markings and improvements to the roadway signage as necessary. Construction is anticipated to begin and be completed in 2019.
No Property Acquisitions will be needed for this project. All work is within in existing right-of-way.
Pedestrian and Bicycle Access
Pedestrian and bicycle access will be maintained along West Taft Road as currently exists during construction.
Work Zone Traffic Control
Vehicular traffic will be maintained on West Taft Road at all times for the construction project. Lane restrictions and alternating one-way traffic controlled by Construction Flaggers will be implemented as necessary in the work zone. All driveways will be accessible during the construction period.
Total project cost: $1,350,000
This is a Federally Funded, Locally Administered, Federal Aid Project. Anticipated Funding sources are 80% Federal, 15% State, and 5% County.
Design Approval: January 2018
Construction Start: Anticipated April 2019
Construction Completion: Anticipated October 2019
